Portrait photography is one of the most basic functions of the camera. The art of portrait photography has been around since the camera’s inception and is one of the predominant reasons the camera has become a mainstay device in modern life. We all know this. Camera’s have the power to capture the special memories of life, and there are few better memories than the people you surround yourself with.

But taking a good portraiture is not easy. We all know this as well. How many times has the phrase “one more try” slid past your lips after disappointingly seeing the results on your viewfinder while trying to gather your family or friends for the perfect shot? Conversely, how many photographs have you seen where you wish they did say “one more try” maybe a few more times? In either case, taking a good portrait goes beyond simply snapping the lens at yourself, best friend, family, model, or complete stranger. There is a definite science to the art.

If portrait photography is something you’ve struggled with, or if you feel stuck in the same pattern and want some additional inspiration on different techniques, check out the 21 Beautiful Portrait Photos by member photographers on Imagekind.

Entice people to go to your restaurant, to review the recipes in your cookbook, or to buy food products online or by phone with commercial food photography from Heavenly Radiance (HR). As Flagler County’s first digital photography company, we have produced commercial photographs for clients of all kinds. Considered one of the most difficult specialties for professional photographers, food photography involves precise lighting, mouth-watering composition, close angles, and more. Good food photography may be challenging for most, but at HR our experience allows us to take digital or traditional pictures of food, on-location with or without models.

We would like to welcome the newest members of our team!

Jenn: Stylist

I started my career in cosmetology in 2005 when I attended Daytona State College. While attending the basic cosmetology program, I also participated in programs including skin care, nails, makeup and hair. After completing over 1,200 hours of hands-on experience, I graduated and went to work for a private salon. After several years working in the private salon, I decided it was time to make a change to something busier. Now I enjoy working in a retail location specializing in updos and makeup for special occasions. I particularly enjoy difficult, yet challenging clients who push me to my limits of creativity and style. Doing hair has always been a life-long dream of mine. I am a third generation stylist and I am very excited to bring my experience to Heavenly Radiance to make your day with the camera one you will never forget.

Belinda: Photographer

The beautiful chaos and passion that life holds drives me as an artist. Nothing excites me more than being able to capture and portray this journey. My love for the arts has been with me most of my life, starting with dance at the age of three. I have been teaching various forms of dance locally for 7 years, at the Flagler School of Dance.

Aside from general academics my studies include pottery, design, drawing, stone carving, printmaking, art history, digital art, journalism, psychology, and even nursing. I have an associates degree in cultural and aesthetic processes and have been working towards a degree in photography at the Southeast Center for Photographic Studies. Needless to say I am enthralled with knowledge of all sorts.

Although I have always enjoyed taking pictures, photography became dearest to my heart when I travelled to Haiti with a missions group. It was here that I truly experienced beauty, sorrow, pain, and joy. Photography enabled me to really take hold of the experience and create on film a story that will last longer than my own life and memory. I realized that photography was to be my method of interpreting all the artistry of culture, environment, and humanity.

I have experience with architectural, studio, location, portraiture, event, and commercial photography. My favorite style is photojournalism where I can explore creativity and tell a story through documentation. I am grateful for the opportunity to capture your moments in life, they are not only special to you but dear to my heart because I am given another chance to express the poetry of life through my love, photography.
